Role Introduction

To support the execution of commercial strategies by partnering closely with Global and Local Freight Forwarders, enabling revenue growth, premium yield, and customer satisfaction. The role plays a key part in driving digital adoption, supporting change initiatives, and delivering consistent, high-quality sales support aligned with Cathay Cargo’s commercial and transformation objectives

 

Key Responsibilities

Revenue & Forwarder Enablement

  • Support the implementation of the Cargo Business Plan in alignment with local and regional commercial strategies and KPIs.
  • Work closely with Cargo Sales Support Assistant Manager(s) and Account Manager(s) to support Global and Local Forwarders in achieving revenue, tonnage, and yield targets.
  • Assist in optimising capacity allocation and utilisation to maximise flight revenue and load factors.
  • Support ancillary revenue initiatives by proactively identifying opportunities with forwarder partners.

 

Forwarder Focused Customer Service

  • Act as a key sales support interface for Global Key Accounts, Local Forwarders, and Trade Partners, ensuring timely and professional service delivery.
  • Respond efficiently to forwarder enquiries, booking requests, rate quotations, and product-related queries.
  • Manage the day-to-day relationship with Regional & Revenue Management Team for revenue generation purposes
  • Provide consistent, customer-centric solutions across all touchpoints to drive premium product uptake and base load stability.
  • Champion Cathay Cargo products and service propositions, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Coordinate with Service Teams on loadability, space utilisation, and operational feasibility.
  • Monitor and action Break Seal communications for transit-hold shipments.
  • Manage flight planning, including VAL bookings and daily booking/load reports
  • Resolve eAWB error, monitor EDMP alerts, billing, and post-departure discrepancies.
  • Send out necessary pre-alerts to destinations/origin warehouses
  • Prepare cargo uplift, revenue, and no-show report
  • Manage transit/destination amendments (awb changes), POD follow-ups, destination storage charges, demurrage, abandoned shipments, penalties for DGD & No-Show.
  • Verify special cargo invoices (ENV/CSafe/Skycell) and coordinate with HQ and agents.

 

Digital Adoption & Change Support

  • Actively promote and utilise digital booking, pricing, and reporting tools to support data-driven decisions and improve forwarder experience.
  • Encourage and support Global and Local Forwarders in adopting Cathay Cargo’s digital platforms and processes.
  • Support change initiatives linked to digital transformation, process standardisation, and new commercial tools.
  • Achieve and sustain a minimum 80 allotment utilisation, ensuring timely release of unused capacity.
  • Deliver accurate and timely load plans to Service Teams to enable smooth operational execution.
  • Focus on identifying and implementing Lean initiatives in the day-to-day in order to achieve more quality.

E&A

  • Emergency and Accident and Crisis Response responsibilities as required

 

Requirements

Academic Qualifications

  • University degree (or tertiary equivalent) in a related discipline
  • Additional certification or diploma in logistics, supply chain management, or aviation sales is preferred

 

Knowledge, Skills, Training and Experience

  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience in airline, freight forwarding, logistics, or a related industry, covering sales or customer service.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with good soft skills.
  • Demonstrated customer service orientation with a proactive and solution-focused approach.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in indoor sales execution.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
