JetPro Pilots is recruiting on behalf of a well-established Part 135 flight department based in Northern California. We are seeking an experienced Director of Operations (DO) to join a high-performing team operating a Citation XLS+.

Responsibilities
The job responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Directs the aviation activities of the company in accordance with the company policies and FAR requirements and may sign all matters associated with the air carrier certificate.
- Exercises operational control of company aircraft and personnel. Has prime responsibility for operational control of flights conducted by the company and monitors the actions of persons exercising operational control.
- Responsible for all pilots employed by client. When necessary, enforces policy and procedures by retraining, disciplinary actions, etc.
- Record keeping procedures as specified in 14 CFR Part 91 and Part 135 as well as DOT requirements
- Supervises the selection, the operation, crew assignment, and scheduling of aircraft to achieve maximum safety and efficiency.
- Works with the Director of Safety to develop and implement safety programs and practices and develop training programs and standards for flight operations.
- Ensures the implementation and effectiveness of the Safety Management System (SMS)
- Maintains the General Operations Manual in a current and up-to-date status.
- Approves the selection, training, and retention of operations personnel.
- Ensures compliance with the Pilot Records Improvement Act
- Attends and schedules others for seminars, conventions, and training to keep abreast of improvements, new methods and techniques for best practices.
- Requisitions materials and approve invoices for materials and services within the base of assignment. Prepares and maintains records and reports on functions of flight operations and its personnel.
- Evaluates and make recommendations for new or replacement equipment.
- Supervises distribution and posting of all information or memoranda relative to change affecting client’s policies, route information, NAVAIDS, NOTAMS, etc.
- Responsible along with the Chief Pilot and assigned Captain to restrict or suspend operations whenever either becomes aware of hazardous conditions that may affect a flight
Schedule:
- Must be available for variable scheduling
- Average of 12 flying days per month
- 8 hard days off per month + 2 weeks vacation annually
- Average around 400-500 Hours per year flying
- Majority of flights scheduled at least 30 days out
