Now Hiring: Production Operator – Coating Room & PCB Assembly (2nd Shift)
Work with a Global Aerospace Leader Tucson, AZ $21-23/hr
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM (2nd Shift). Initial training will take place on 1st Shift at $21/hr for approximately 30–60 days. Upon transition to 2nd Shift, employees receive an additional $2/hour shift differential.
PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a top-tier aerospace and defense manufacturer in Tucson, Arizona to hire skilled Production Operators for its Coating Room and PCB Assembly operations. This site is a certified Center of Excellence, supporting advanced design, manufacturing, testing, and repair of electronic systems used in commercial and military aviation.
This is a full-time, onsite role—not remote—designed for experienced operators looking to play a key role in producing high-performance aerospace components that power aircraft across the globe.
About the RoleAs a Production Operator in the Coating Room & PCB Assembly area, you’ll perform hands-on work building, soldering, inspecting, and applying protective coatings to printed circuit boards (PCBs) and circuit card assemblies (CCAs). You’ll follow detailed engineering procedures, maintain high quality standards, and support key production functions that directly impact flight safety and system performance.
Key ResponsibilitiesAssemble PCBs and CCAs using manual and automated tools, including hand soldering and SMT equipment
Conduct post-wave soldering inspections, perform touch-ups and rework to IPC-A-610 standards
Apply conformal coatings using spray, dip, brush, or selective methods to protect circuits
Mask, inspect, and rework coated boards for uniform, defect-free finishes
Operate and maintain assembly and test machinery, repair feeders, and perform preventive maintenance
Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to troubleshoot issues and improve processes
QualificationsRequired:
4–5 years of experience in PCB assembly, soldering, and/or conformal coating
High school diploma or equivalent
Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow complex work instructions
Comfortable working with tools, test equipment, and coating application methods
Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and documentation
Preferred:
Familiarity with coating materials (acrylic, urethane, silicone, parylene)
Certifications in soldering or PCB assembly
Experience with SMT systems, inspection processes, or automated assembly equipment
Computer skills: Word, Excel, documentation systems

Pay Details: $21.00 to $23.00 per hour
