Summary:
Interpret and work from engineering requirements, work orders, blueprints, charts, sketches, work instructions, and technical documentation to manufacture high-quality parts and assemblies.
Fabricate assemblies using Computer Numerical Control (CNC) equipment, while ensuring product and process quality throughout manufacturing operations.
Determine and adjust machine feeds, speeds, and work alignment using shop mathematics, charts, graphs, and precision measuring tools.
Perform machine proofing for new and revised part programs.
Adjust tool setups and make minor machine adjustments to ensure safe and efficient machine operation.
Adapt tooling and holding fixtures to properly orient machine tool cutters and machining fixtures.
Perform drilling, countersinking, sealing, and fastener installation using manual and CNC equipment.
Verify dimensions and tolerances using precision measurement tools, including:
Height gages
Gauge blocks
Micrometers
Calipers
Protractors
Dial indicators
Utilize tooling to assemble components into subassemblies and final assemblies.
Verify completed work meets engineering specifications, process requirements, and work instructions.
Identify and report discrepancies according to established procedures.
Ensure equipment and tooling certifications are maintained per process requirements.
Assist in training team members on assembly and installation techniques.
Requirements:
5+ years of relevant manufacturing or machining experience.
Experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
Background in aerospace or aviation manufacturing.
Experience with manual and CNC machining.
Knowledge of basic machining principles, including:
Ability to use a dial indicator to indicate a hole or tooling ball.
Strong understanding of shop math and basic mathematical calculations.
Experience working with precision measuring instruments and inspection equipment.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and technical documentation.
Must be willing and able to work any shift, as needed.
Must successfully pass a skills demonstration assessment.
Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
