Job Description:
A vacancy for a Public Affairs Officer EU & NATO (m/f) has arisen within Airbus Corporate Functions in Brussels. The successful applicant will join the Public Affairs EU & NATO team.
She/He will support, and replace as needed, the Head of Airbus European & NATO Affairs for Defence and Space in representing Airbus towards the Brussels-based institutions: Commission, Parliament, National Permanent Representations, as well as Brussels based trade associations (ASD, DigitalEurope, Britcham...).
The role is primarily focused on the Airbus Defence & Space (ADS) portfolio, with 2 main objectives:
∙ Ensuring that decisions taken at European and NATO level (funding, program, regulation…) are consistent with Airbus activity development.
∙ Contributing and supporting Airbus Defence & Space business activities (contracts, order intake...).
The function is based in the Airbus Brussels Office, close to the main European actors.
Your challenges: The Public Affairs Officer EU & NATO will, under the direction of the Head of Europe & NATO Affairs for Defence and Space and in close coordination with the Senior VP Head of the Brussels Office, represent Airbus towards the various entities based in Brussels with 3 main objectives:
∙ Reporting information to ADS entities (notes, briefings, meetings, reports)
∙ Actively relay and argue on the Airbus positions towards EU & NATO stakeholders.
∙ Contribute to the actions in support of business and campaigns issued by European entities.
This role implies:
∙ Being a recognized valuable Airbus expert for defence and space activities across the European network: European Commission, European Parliament, Permanent Representations to the EU and NATO, EU agencies based in Brussels (EDA) and various professional associations.
∙ Participating in various EU/NATO events and informing ADS on the oucome.
∙ Having regular contact with main ADS deptarment for internal coordination.
∙ Having both an internal and external network of contacts permanently updated.
∙ Liaising and using the complementarity of the other experts in the Airbus Brussels Office.
Your boarding pass:We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
∙ Educated to a Master&39;s degree level (or equivalent).
∙ Experience in European affairs (an experience in European institutions is an asset).
∙ Good knowledge of the European Union and NATO, including the main processes and roles of the various entities (Commission, Council, European Parliament, Permanent Representations, agencies…).
∙ Sound interest for aeronautics and major Airbus topics, with a particular focus on Defence & Space area.
∙ Sound interest in political affairs and on supporting the various ADS business and portfolio.
∙ Large availability including availability to travel for business.
∙ Ability to mobilize and motivate resources with no direct reporting line.
∙ Proactive, with strong interpersonal, communication skills, team oriented and able to work in an international fast-moving and complex environment,
∙ Analytical skills with the ability to easily synthesize
∙ A negotiation level in English and German is mandatory
∙ Any other European languages would be an asset
