Operator, CMM

Core Responsibilities:

• Perform a full spectrum of dimensional inspections of parts involving close tolerances and ensure compliance with all applicable drawings and other applicable technical data.
• Perform a variety of duties to independently complete incoming, layout, first piece, in-process and final inspection of aerospace parts.
• Operate computerized measuring equipment, train and assist other inspectors as required.
• Develop concise documentation that is compliant to the requirements of the organization, customer and/or regulatory requirements.
• Interface with Quality, Engineering, and Tooling teams on gage concepts during program development.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Minimum 1 to 3 years layout inspection experience preferred
• Minimum of 3 years in a parts manufacturing environment preferred
• Proficient in CMM operation and programming preferred.
• Working knowledge of the use of measuring instruments, i.e. various micrometers, verniers, swing, snap, and dial gauges, etc. desirable.
• Read and understand part drawings, internal process instructions and other technical data to perform dimensional inspection activities.
• Proficient in the application of GD&T.
• Ability to define problems collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions to support corrective action activities.
• Strong mathematical skills, to include addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
• Compliance with general attendance standards is required.

Education Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Additional technical training or education desirable.
