BAE Systems is seeking experienced Navy Combat Systems Technicians with experience in performing comprehensive component level maintenance for shipboard Weapons Systems such as Vertical Launching System (VLS) to join our dynamic team of engineers, technologists, and military veterans. The work is performed at Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC) in Wallops Island VA. The SCSC is located on a barrier island on the Eastern Shore of Virginia and is a tenant of the NASAs Wallops Island Flight Facility. SCSC provides live combat systems suites with platform specific radars and sensors and supports the following functions: Combat system lifetime support engineering, platform certification, operational and technical evaluation, combat system training, interoperability testing and participates in at-sea exercises. SCSC provides a high-fidelity representative combat system of ever ship in the AEGIS, Ship Self Defense System (SSDS) fleet today and those planned in the future.

The selected candidate will perform comprehensive equipment and system level maintenance on any of the following Navy Combat Weapons Systems:

Guns Weapons Systems MK160 Mod 14 (MK 34 Mod 7), Guns Weapons System MK-160 Mod 15 (MK 34 Mod 6), Guns Weapons System MK-160 Mod 19, Guns Weapons System MK-86 Vertical Launching System (VLS), Harpoon Weapons System (HWS), GFCS MK-160/11, GFCS MK-160/04, MK-160/06, GFCS MK-160/08, Tomahawk Weapons System (TTWCS)

Provide system/equipment configuration and operational support for all deployed baseline AEGIS and SSDS variants
Schedule planned maintenance actions utilizing the SKED program in accordance with the Navys Maintenance Material Management (3M) system and also be responsible for documenting all maintenance actions, including repair part requisitions, using the OMNS-NG program.

This position is controlled by the Service Contract Act (SCA) and is classified as non-exempt under the Fair Standards Act (FLSA).

Job Requirements:
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Minimum education and years of service required: High School/GED and more than three years of demonstrated experience assessing, troubleshooting, and performing corrective and preventive maintenance on systems and equipment. PQS 301 qualification is required. If selected candidate is not PQS 301 qualified on on or before hire date, they must be willing and able to obtain PQS 301 within 3 months of employment.

Successful candidate must be willing and able to perform in a variety of 40 hour work-week configurations including:
1. Monday-Friday (5X8) 1st shift
2. Monday-Friday (5X8) 2nd shift
3. Variable 4 X 10 shifts that may include weekends (4 days on/3 days off) and may be 1st or 2nd shift
4. Sliding (5 X 8) work weeks (Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday-Saturday) and may be 1st or 2nd shift

**PLEASE NOTE - These work week configurations maybe scheduled on a rotational basis

Security Clearance requirement: This position requires the successful candidate to be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance. The criteria for obtaining and holding a clearance are driven by US government requirement. You must be a US citizen to obtain a security clearance.


Pay Information
This position is covered by a wage law called the McNamara-O'Hara Service Contract Act (SCA). The wage range for this position is determined by the Wage and Hour Division of the Department of Labor on a contract-by-contract basis.
