Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the daily operations of the Human Resources Department. This position is responsible for managing HR processes, maintaining employee records, ensuring compliance with company policies, and assisting with recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities Act as a first point of contact for employee inquiries related to HR policies, procedures, and benefits
Assist in resolving employee issues and concerns in a confidential and professional manner
Filing and other office admin duties as required
Maintain and update employee records
WCB/WSIB management
Prepare and process new hires documentation, employee promotions, transfers, workplace accommodations, progressive discipline, resignations and terminations
Assist with benefits administration and responding to benefit inquiries
Attend career fairs, expos, conferences, recruiting and community events
Assist in the coordination of company events, recognition programs, and employee engagement activities
Assistance with projects as assigned by HR leadership
Actively participate in the Company’s Safety Management System
Perform additional duties as assigned
Minimum Education, Experience and Certifications
High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent
Post-secondary education with successful completion of diploma or degree in Human Resources
1-2 years’ experience in a Human Resources support role or equivalent preferred
Must possess a valid driver’s licence
Must be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word)
Experience working in an HRIS system an asset (Dayforce preferred)
Knowledge of Canada Labour Code considered an asset
Experience working in a unionized environment and ability to read and understand collective agreements considered an asset
Indigenous and Cultural Awareness Training considered an asset
Working Conditions Physically able to perform all listed job duties
Travel by aircraft and other means as required by role
Travel by flight required for base visits, recruiting events, Company sponsored and Company interested events, and other needs as determined by the Company
Public speaking
Work performed primarily in an office environment
Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and telephone
Long periods of sitting and frequent use of stairs
