We are seeking a highly motivated Security Guard to join our team at Kaman Precision Products. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in our Security Department, directly contributing to our company Core Values (REACH). Works under direction of the Supervisor or Shift Officer with minimum supervision
First Shift duties include but are not limited to gate or lobby control. Open gate to allow entrance or exit of employees and authorized visitors. Issue and recover all temporary badges, including ADC badges. Examine employee badges and/or credentials of other persons desiring entrance to Company premises, challenging same as necessary. Direct visitors to various buildings. Record all visitations. May check packages and vehicles entering and leaving premises. May require permits from Employees for tools or materials taken from premises. Maintain communication center in Main Lobby. Monitor alarm systems and dispatch emergency responders. Notify specific outside departments or units in the event of emergencies such as fire, medical, crash, presence of unauthorized persons, etc. Coordinate and cooperate with civil law enforcement agencies. Assume telephone operator duties at specified posts and receive, answer, and transfer calls.
Second Shift and Third Shift may include some of all of the above, but in general, during secured hours duties include monitoring communications, using paging system. Update log from records as noted by previous shift personnel. Make clock rounds by walking or using patrol vehicle. Assume telephone operator duties at specified posts and receive, answer, route, and transfer calls.
All Shift personnel must have the ability to protect self in the line of duty and handle any emergency situation normally encountered by a police officer. Guard exit and entrances to protect property and personnel against fire, theft, vandalism, illegal entry, and other hazards. Must be available as needed to rotate hours, shifts, and days off. Work overtime and long hours without relief as needed. Perform patrol duties during secured hours including Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays. Follow all fire and safety regulations. May use personal computer/terminal to prepare incident reports, issue badges, etc.
Requires the use of some judgment to comply with instructions and standard procedures, methods, or practices or to respond to emergencies involving the making of minor decisions.
Light physical effort, consisting of occasionally lifting or moving average weight material.
Responsible for own work or occasionally for one person.
Experience:
Over 3 months up to and including 12 months
Requirements:
P/T Guard requested to work Per Diem. No defined shift or schedule.
Must possess a valid Driver’s license.
Must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Ability to obtain security clearance within six months of date of hire.
Must be able to maintain security clearance after it is received.
Must have the ability to be certified in first aid training.
