Job Title: Aircraft Electrical Overhaul TechnicianJob DescriptionSupporting heavy maintenance of commercial aircraft for airline customers to ensure the safe operation of aircraft electronics in-flight. Working in the Component Shop area of a large MRO facility, the repair technician is responsible for testing, troubleshooting, disassembling, repairing, reassembling, certifying, and documenting various types of aircraft avionics equipment and related systems.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate precision test equipment for alignment, troubleshooting, and testing of electronic equipment and systems.
- Use Oracle-based computer software to view and log tasks, materials, and status/condition updates.
- Use standard test equipment, oscilloscopes, ohmmeters, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, etc.
- Align and adjust advanced electrical components on units being tested to ensure proper functioning of electrical circuits, utilizing established test procedures.
- Analyze circuitry and physically check wiring and operation of various electronic parts, units, and system components necessary to locate malfunction causes found during testing of components, equipment, or systems.
- Perform electrical/mechanical repair operations consisting of disassembly and assembly of units. Determine requirements and install modifications as set forth by Service Bulletin or other authorized documentation.
- Build up wire harness starting from spool, following assembly direction, attaching connectors, and installing in newly repaired units.
Essential Skills- 4+ years of recent avionics or complex electronics repair experience, including testing and blueprints. Experience with mechanical, electronics, avionics, and aircraft systems. Experience soldering basic wire connections to boards.
- Ability to perform bench testing of aircraft window heat control units, including running diagnostics, repairing by removing/replacing wires or basic circuit board, soldering new connections, and documenting for recertification.
- Ability to read diagrams and tool lists, and select appropriate tools (various sockets, hand and power tools, measurement tools, hand wrenches).
- Experience using computer software daily for task tracking, repair status/completion, and quality.
- Eligibility for FAA DOT safety-sensitive hire.
- Ideal candidates may include I-level Avionics technicians from the Navy, Army Avionics Survivability Equipment Repair technicians, ship/boat electronics repair technicians, or electrical repair technicians for appliances.

Work Environment
Large MRO facility, components division building. Clean shop setting with various sections for different aircraft system types. Work hours are Monday through Friday or Tuesday through Friday with possible Saturday work. Shifts are 10 hours, 0500 – 1530 or 1530 – 0200, and candidates must be open to either. The first week will consist of ATS and customer-specific training on the day shift, between 24 and 40 hours. Currently, the shop operates from 0500 - 1530, but as the program ramps up, an additional shift from 1530 - 0200 may be introduced.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.
