THE WORK
As a Capture Data Scientist, your duties will include:
• Working alongside the Business Development and Capture teams to provide analytics support during large capture efforts
• Owning the development and maintenance of custom built analytical tools to include:
o Inheriting ownership of existing custom built tools
o Enhancing current tools and developing new tools
• Provide advanced analytics and modeling about the proposed effort to include:
o Performing Monte-Carlo analyses to understand projected metrics
o Validating and incorporating demand forecasts into modeling efforts
o Working with Supply Chain to establish purchasing forecasts and inventory budgets
• Working directly with customers to establish data requirements and provide analyses
• Participating in proposal writing with a focus on analytics requirements and metric definitions
• Working with execution analytics teams to ensure smooth transition of ownership

The Business Intelligence and Analytics department is a dedicated team who support all parts of the business. We are driven to provide actionable intelligence allowing for data based decision making, by developing advanced analytics and automation tools.

WHO YOU ARE
You have strong analytical skills and excellent communication abilities, enabling you to effectively work with customers to procure and interpret data for insightful decision-making.

A level 2 employee is early-career and typically has 2+ years of professional experience.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent technical degree with 2 years of professional experience; or no experience required with a related Master’s degree
• Proficient in Python
• Proficient in performing statistical analyses, like Monte-Carlo analyses
• Experience with Tableau or other professional data visualizations tools
• Experience working with business data to create analytical models
• Experience working with customers to establish relationships and procure data
• Experience working with large proposals or the proposal creation process.
Desired Skills:
• Experience in machine learning and/or artificial intelligence
• Experience with the following programming languages: Python, R
• Experience with the following data analytics tools: Tableau, Tableau Prep, Alteryx, VBA/Excel Macros, Power BI
• Experience in Sales, Business Development, or Capture roles
• Experience in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, or Business Intelligence roles
• Previous Lockheed Martin experience

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
