PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a talented Mold Maintenance Technician II to join one of our client’s world‑renowned manufacturing teams. Location: Foothill Ranch, CA
Pay Rate: $33.20/hour
Schedule: Monday - Friday 7AM to 3:30PM
The Mold Maintenance Technician II is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting injection molds and tooling used in production. This role ensures molds are set up correctly, operating efficiently, and meeting quality specifications. The technician will work closely with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to support safe, accurate, and efficient molding processes.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESRead and interpret tooling drawings to perform required work accurately.
Safely disassemble, clean, repair, and reassemble molds to support production needs.
Perform in‑press tooling adjustments and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.
Operate precision tools and machines, including grinders and Bridgeport/lathe equipment, within tight tolerances.
Use precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.) to verify part accuracy.
Maintain tooling, equipment, and work area cleanliness; support CMMS recordkeeping.
Collaborate with Maintenance Technicians and Process Engineers to resolve tooling problems and improve performance.
Assist with inventory monitoring and perform additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent; trade school or technical training preferred.
Experience in a tool room environment involving plastic injection mold repair/maintenance (ranging from 1–8 years depending on level).
Hands-on experience using hand‑operated tool room equipment; prototype toolmaking experience preferred.
Knowledge of mold and die components, tooling characteristics, and injection molding processes.
Ability to read and understand tooling drawings and technical documentation.
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Basic computer skills; SAP or other CMMS experience a plus.
Toolmaking or Mold Maker Journeyman certification preferred; ability to obtain or provide necessary hand tools.

Pay Details: $33.20 per hour
