Job Summary
The primary responsibility of the Experimental Assembly Specialist will be to assemble and install aircraft parts and systems to support Product Development programs. The Product Development team is tasked with the development of new components and technologies intended for evaluation on next generation aircraft, thus, many of these parts are new designs that may require revisions and adjustments to determine the best way to assemble. The execution of these parts and assemblies may come from mental concepts, verbal instructions, hand sketch drawings, or blueprints. This role requires constant learning of new methods and the application of new industry technologies. The individual must be self-motivated, have a high degree of integrity, strong verbal skills, and be comfortable working with a highly diverse cross functional team. Candidates filling this role must excel in a team environment as well as be proficient enough to work independently and able to troubleshoot when problems arise.
Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions
- Assemble parts using engineering drawings and specifications and verify accuracy of work using precision measuring instruments.
- Develop processes to gain efficiency.
- Plans future projects and helps meet deadlines.
- Able to inspect others work to verify its ready for Quality.
- Maintains area safety and quality.
- Manages task assignments.
- Conducts on the job training for technicians and provides guidance.
- Coordinates engineering issues and offers solutions to complex issues.
- Assist with scheduling and workflow with other departments.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Identify appropriate PPE, proper safety protocol, and ways to minimize potential safety hazards.
- Communicate clearly with other technicians.
- Coordinates workflow with the Quality Department.
Qualifications

- 2-year degree or greater, Military experience in relative field. A&P certificate is preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of direct industry experience
- Strong creative mind that excels at solving problems and can successfully collaborate with a diverse team during the development of new technologies and designs.
- Vast Knowledge of Cirrus aircraft assembly methods.
- Advanced knowledge of materials, processes, and specifications, both within Cirrus & the wider industry.
- Expert assembly skills with an extreme eye for detail
- Strong leadership qualities.
- Ability to lead multiple projects start to finish.
- Advanced knowledge aircraft hardware.
- Great training and mentoring skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with other departments.
- Advanced knowledge of aircraft systems
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willing to learn new skills.
