Advanced Manufacturing Engineer II - Aerospace Electronics
Job Description:

Advanced Manufacturing Engineer (AME) is the technical expert with responsibility for supporting the product and its manufacturing process. Provides guidance and technical expertise for assigned areas and products of responsibility. The AME drives product integrity, manufacturing output, and continuous improvements while collaborating with factory operations, demand planning, design engineering, and sourcing teams. This role will report to the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Manager.


Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain product structure, production routings, standard shop procedures, manufacturing bill of materials, PFMEAs, and product risk analyses for development units and mature products
  • Maintain product configuration by incorporating design changes into production documentation
  • Lead and support Lean activities in the production cell to support the Honeywell Operating System. Develop standard operating sheets and standard combination sheets
  • As a technical focal for the production cell, lead root cause and corrective action analyses, implement improvements to eliminate defects
  • Lead cost of poor quality improvements and cycle time reduction activities in the production cell
  • Lead/support First Article Inspection (FAI) process
  • Initiate and lead improvement activities in assembly processes
  • Initiate Request for Material Review Actions, provide disposition proposal, and implement Material Review Board recommendations
  • Analyze supplier-related defects, coordinate material return process with supplier quality engineering, and improve suppliers’ performance
  • Assist in resolving supplier technical issues arising from deviation requests, design ambiguities and manufacturability
  • Lead product return investigations, implement preventive measures, propose product design and manufacturing process improvements to eliminate escapes
  • Provide design for special, custom-made tools and fixtures

The Honeywell building is a controlled goods program environment. Candidates must be eligible for CGP clearance.


Qualifications

Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or Aerospace Engineering
  • 3+ years of engineering experience in aerospace electronics manufacturing, assembly methods and techniques
  • Ability to travel up to 5

  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment used for systems, end units, and subassemblies
  • Solid working knowledge of Engineering change implementation
  • Strong data reporting and PC application skills using Excel and macros
  • Manufacturing and Materials Engineering skills as applied in an aerospace electronics assembly environment
  • Knowledge of J-Standard, IPC, MIL –specs, industry standards, and quality systems
