  • This individual will be based in SXM and accountable for managing the day-to-day ACS and Cargo operations in SXM, ANU, SKB ensuring a safe and secure operation modeled against Deltas vision and values. STM SXM will report to the Field Director, ACS Caribbean and will maintain and establish cross-divisional partnerships with Maintenance, Flight Operations, Human Resources, IT, Properties and Facilities, Finance, Contractors and Process Engineering teams in a strategic manner to achieve key performance targets (ACS and CGO KPIs) while providing a role model for local employees.
  • The Position is responsible for the strategic implementation of process workflows that will lead to continuous improvement throughout the operation as measured by established operational metrics.
  • This position promotes team building through motivational and directional coaching, broadening employees’ vision while developing their expertise.
  • This manager position is responsible for all Environmental standards, regulations, customs and compliance requirements. Guarantees all regulatory security measures are fully complied with.
  • Must be able to build effective business partnerships with Deltas outside contractors/business partners, vendors, customers, OALs, and SXM, SKB, ANU airport.
  • Helps to develop and implements annual strategy plans for cargo and mail volume, ground handling revenue targets, OJI improvements, productivity measurements and team building.
  • This position interacts with internal personnel requiring cooperation with various personalities and with all levels of management and non-management personnel.
  • Develops both strategic and tactical plans that create a safety conscious environment resulting in employee safety and well-being.
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • Candidate must have work authorization to live and work in the Caribbean Island, St. Maarten at the time of application. DELTA DOES NOT SPONSOR.
  • Excellent command of English is required (written and verbal), and Dutch This to say English and Dutch together
  • This position requires a working knowledge of DL Term and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Candidate must be willing to work long hours as needed.
  • Must possess strong customer service skills and a keen understanding of safety and compliance. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills required for effective service recovery.
  • Candidate must be able to manage to a large financial budget. Should exhibit strong organizational skills as well as possess a high level of sales and public contact experience, including strategic thinking, solid decision making, and ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, solid customer focus, strong planning, relationship, and organizational skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are essential. Must also set high standards of performance for self and others and must be able to guide others in adhering to these standards. Additionally, candidate must have the ability to identify, evaluate and refine functional results to improve the customer experience. Should facilitate the implementation and acceptance of change within the workplace.
  • Understanding of the business unit, Operations and sales process or similar experience within the cargo industry is preferred. Clear understanding of operating and planning process is a must.
  • Must be performing satisfactorily in current position.
  • Embraces diverse people, thinking and styles.
  • Consistently makes safety and security, of self and others, the priority.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

  • Bachelors degree preferred. Must possess top-tier analytical and conceptual skills as well as communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Must have ability to initiate and manage multiple projects simultaneously and to leverage resources across all divisions at Delta.
  • Industry and operational knowledge and experience is a requirement.
  • Technical skills in PowerPoint, Excel and database querying preferred.
