The successful Senior Legal Executive will apply specialised legal qualifications in the handling of routine corporate governance matters, involving research, document preparation, and correspondence related to company administration. They will also provide legal support and assistance to both the corporate governance team and to clients in the Emirates Group, which the corporate governance team advises on a wide variety of matters.
In this role, you will:
- Support Legal Services Managers on corporate governance-related tasks.
- Draft, review, and proofread legal documents and correspondence, including board minutes, shareholder resolutions, and articles of association; produce powers of attorney necessary for company outstation management and maintain the Legal Department’s power of attorney register.
- Undertake legal research and prepare reports on legal topics and developments related to Corporate Governance of use or interest to the Company.
- Maintain and keep up to date the Legal Department’s entity management database and liaise with outside counsel on corporate secretarial matters under the direction of the Legal Services Manager.
- Provide support and assistance to the Legal Services Manager in corporate administration matters, including incorporation and dissolution of entities and changes to company structures (e.g., directors and share capital).
- Manage projects assigned from time to time, including, without limitation, outstation start-ups, which will require planning and organising on both a short-term and long-term basis depending on project requirements; and build and maintain relationships across the Group in order to achieve ongoing objectives as well as effectively complete projects handled from time to time.
QualificationIn order to be considered for the role you must have:
Legal/Aviation Law 3 Years Post Graduate Diploma (12+4) or equivalent.
A professional qualification such as Legal Executive, Company Secretary, Paralegal, or a law degree (LLB or LLM), including a course in contract law.
Minimum post-qualification experience in a corporate in-house legal department or law firm.
