Raytheon Requirements and Capabilities team in Japan is looking for a Sales Business Development Associate Director who will be responsible for growing Raytheon’s business in Japan as well as pipeline development, external customer engagement and serving as the voice of the customer to internal Raytheon stakeholders.
In this role you will be a critical resource and member of the Japan Integrated Country Team who will be responsible for growth and enterprise pursuits in collaboration with the continental United States (CONUS) business development teams to achieve spanet growth objectives. As the program Lead you will partner with business development, product line and functional leaders across the Raytheon to support the development and implementation of an enterprise-wide strategy and solution sets for the Japan MoD.
The JSDF lead is the primary Raytheon interface with Ministry of Defense (MoD) and Japanese Self Defense Force (JSDF). Areas of focus:
- Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD)
- Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR)
- Air and ground launched effectors
- Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems (CUAS)
This local position is in Tokyo, Japan and will report to the Raytheon Japan Country Leader.
What You Will Do
- Primary interface for Japan Self Defense Force (JSDF) MOD customers.
- Interface internally to the Business Development teams and enterprise product lines, providing customer feedback using contacts and sources within the JSDF/MoD.
- Coordinate visits and participate as an extended member of capture team.
- Provide environmental and situational awareness on current pursuits to ensure alignment with customer.
- Provide evaluation and direction to enterprise representatives in Japan on MoD planning, coordination, logistics, and strategy.
- Act as lead for protocol and cultural issues as part of business interactions with customers for effective engagement.
- Facilitate and enable relationships for the enterprise with JSDF / MOD and Industry customers.
- Provide insight on JSDF relationships with Japanese defense industry contractors to support enterprise planning for prospective collaboration partners.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s and a minimum of 12+ years prior relevant experience, or an Advance Degree in a related field and a minimum of 10+ years’ experience.
- Experience working with in-country customers.
- Experience leveraging customer knowledge to identify potential growth opportunities.
- Experience with the procurement, fiscal and regulatory environment within Japan.
- Experience with international business practices with U.S. Government compliance and U.S Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA).
- Native Japanese language oral and written, and functional level of English language.
