As a Project Engineer / Junior Project Manager at our Electronic Controls and Motor Systems (ECMS) site, you’ll help drive R&D projects for advanced electric motors and controllers – while building your project management career in a high-growth area.
What You Will Do
Lead and coordinate multi-disciplined project teams, applying standard programme management processes to deliver assigned work packages and projects.
Create, maintain and clearly communicate project plans, schedules and resource profiles to ensure delivery to time, cost and quality targets.
Establish and maintain effective monitoring and control of project scope, budget, schedule and requirements, taking corrective actions where needed.
Proactively identify and manage project risks, develop mitigation actions and contingency plans, and work with the Chief Engineer and Programme Manager to secure key milestones.

Drive the approved business case by monitoring non-recurring costs, recurring unit costs and resource utilisation, and by developing cost-out opportunities through design changes and sourcing strategies.
Oversee the design and build of development test rigs and equipment, ensure early involvement and timely selection of suppliers, and support production readiness and performance management across the supply chain.
What You Will Learn
Deepen your understanding of electrified aircraft systems, particularly electric motors and motor controllers in an R&D environment.
Build hands-on experience leading complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects from early development through to production readiness.
Gain exposure to senior technical and programme leaders, learning how project, engineering, supply chain and commercial stakeholders work together on major programmes.
Develop your commercial mindset by working with cost models, risk-sharing approaches and sourcing strategies that support both customers and the business.
Strengthen your leadership, communication and influencing skills in a matrix organisation with multiple internal and external stakeholders.

Strong commercial acumen, with a track record of delivering projects against demanding targets in complex, multi-disciplined settings.
Experience working within a matrix organisation, with strong influencing skills to drive alignment and ensure key deliverables are met.
Demonstrated problem-solving skills, ability to work effectively with ambiguity, and excellent attention to detail while working at pace.
Qualifications We Prefer
Background in technology / product development, ideally within aerospace and/or electrical engineering.
Experience with technology development projects that include significant R&D and engineering content.
Exposure to supply chain engagement, including supplier selection, production readiness and performance management.
Experience leading or contributing to integrated project teams (IPTs).
What We Offer
A key role in a rapidly growing area of Collins Aerospace, working on cutting-edge electrification projects that shape the future of flight.
