Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Operations, this senior member of management will be responsible for a specific product line and support manufacturing operations, ensuring throughput targets are met in a safe timely, high-quality, cost efficient and productive manner. The leader will manage the development of the production and manufacturing strategy by ensuring employees are working safely, properly trained, assigned duties, rewarded, coached, and disciplined, while optimizing equipment availability, cycle times, and continuous improvement, and assigned projects. Ensures compliance with all quality, engineering, FAA, and customer regulations and specifications.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Champion a zero-injury culture by proactively ensuring compliance with all environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations. Conducts safety huddles and EHS self-inspections.
- Partner with support departments to ensure all production methods align with internal quality standards and customer requirements.
- Establish, analyze, and communicate performance standards for the assigned area.
- Recommend or implement measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency.
- Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs.
- Requisition materials, supplies, equipment parts, or repair services.
- Interpret specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policies and procedures for workers.
- Control product flow, materials, and labor utilization to optimize productivity while meeting safety, quality, inventory, and throughput targets.
- Plan labor, equipment, tooling, and supply needs on a daily, weekly, and quarterly basis to meet and exceed productivity goals.
- Confer with supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments.
- Develop operational priorities and coordinate cross-functionally with engineering, quality, production control, finance, human resources, and suppliers. Measure performance against stated priorities.
- Lead cost-reduction initiatives and ensure continuous improvement in quality, efficiency, and on-time delivery.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and quality engineering teams to drive improvements in scrap reduction, cost efficiency, and safety metrics.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment with employees, customers, and stakeholders.
- Manage controllable variable costs, staffing levels, and labor reallocation across the plant as needed.
- Carry out management responsibilities, including interviewing, hiring, training, performance evaluation, and disciplinary actions.
- Support cross-training efforts to eliminate skill gaps and build a more adaptable workforce. Maintain an employee skills matrix and competency certifications.
- Ensure employees are trained for the job they are completing.
- Participate in operations meetings with leadership to review plant deliverables and actuals.
- Ensure policy and procedure compliance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
- Managerial/ Supervisory experience leading teams of 20+ employees with demonstrated performance management expertise.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with personal accountability.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook).
- Quality-driven & production-focused.
- Ability to work effectively with minimal direction and drive continuous improvement initiatives (Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing experience preferred).

Required Experience:
- 5+ years of Operations Management experience in a heavy manufacturing environment (preferably machining).
- Experience in aerospace/fastener/metals manufacturing industries, with strong knowledge of all fastener materials preferred.
- Experience using ERP/MRP systems.
Level of Education:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering, Operations, or similar.
