Job Summary
The National Recovery at Work Manager (NRaWM) is responsible for shaping and leading Swissport’s national recovery-at-work framework to support the physical and psychological wellbeing of our people.
This role exists to proactively reduce workplace injuries, ensure consistent and effective claims management practices, and drive exceptional return-to-work outcomes across all business units.
Through strong leadership and collaboration, the NRaWM promotes a culture of safety, supports compliance, and strengthens Swissport’s commitment to a healthy and productive workforce.
Your activities
- Develop strategy on how to proactively manage Workers Compensation claims to reduce premiums. Look at options to ensure the most cost-effective solution.
- Manage and drive end-to-end injury, case management, and recovery-at-work activities across Swissport, ensuring timely, consistent, and effective support for injured employees.
- Lead national case planning, monitoring, and reporting, ensuring accurate documentation and visibility of case progress and outcomes.
- Support the development and implementation of injury management strategies, return-to-work functions, policies, and guidelines in alignment with the Swissport Pacific Management System.
- Design, implement, and evaluate strategies and programs aimed at maximising safe and sustainable recovery-at-work outcomes.
- Monitor, review, and provide decision support for complex and high-value claims, ensuring compliance, risk mitigation, and optimal case outcomes.
- Proactively identify and escalate case issues, ensuring timely intervention and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve systems and processes that support effective injury management and return-to-work functions nationally.
- Lead and manage the Return-to-Work team, ensuring consistent performance, capability development, and delivery of high-quality services across all Swissport businesses in Australia.
Your profile
At Swissport, our people are at the heart of everything we do. We’re seeking a senior injury management leader to drive workers’ compensation and recovery at work strategies across a large, multi-site operation within a safety critical environment.
In this role, you’ll lead end to end injury and complex claims management, influence premium and risk outcomes through proactive intervention, and partner closely with leaders, insurers, and external providers.
You’ll also play a key role in strengthening employee wellbeing, compliance, and continuous improvement, while leading and developing a high performing Return to Work team to deliver consistent, sustainable outcomes.
