What you can expect as a Materials Manager at West Star:

The Materials Manager will be responsible for providing centralized oversight, and ensuring adherence to processes, procedures, and financial controls. This challenging position is key to providing aid to site leaders in managing and maintaining inventory needs.

You will be ESSENTIAL to many FUNCTIONS, including:

• Responsible for the organizational and individual growth and development of all direct reports.
• Collaborates with operations and leadership to identify and develop needs and requirements.
• Evaluates and aids site leaders in managing and maintaining inventory needs, including shelf-life items, min/max quantities, and rotable part management.
• Demonstrates effective communication and problem-solving skills.
• Assists in training newly hired staff.
• Manages remote teams and staff to ensure policies and procedures are followed and maintained. 
• Aids in preserving the traceability of part certifications at responsible locations.
• Recommends solutions to existing processes to reduce waste while increasing efficiencies.
• Works with Purchasing and Finance departments on purchase orders and invoice issues for parts and services received.
• Works with the Tooling Manager and other department leaders to ensure proper tracking and control of assets.
• Assists with periodic cycle count processes and procedures to maintain inventory count accuracy and financial controls.
• Operate in Corridor ERP system
• Performs special projects and/or other duties as assigned.
• Effectively and clearly communicates (i.e., speaks, writes, reads) in English.

What you’ll need to bring with you:

Your Education:

A BS degree in supply chain management, logistics, or equivalent experience is required. A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal, but not mandatory.

Your Experience:

• A minimum of 8-10 years of materials, parts, or supply chain management experience is required.

• ERP Inventory management system (Corridor) is a plus.

• Experience with Apple and Microsoft products, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel spreadsheets, is ideal.
• Proven experience in leadership, team development, and training.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask.
