Job Description:

The Manager of Maintenance Programs primary responsibilities include administration and support of the Maintenance Program for aircraft operated under Air Wisconsins Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Program with minimal supervision from the Director of Quality.

Job Functions:

  • Promotes and fosters a safe and secure operating environment.
  • Provides direction and leadership by identifying and prioritizing changes to the Maintenance Program.
  • Manages process for Maintenance Program administrative change control.
  • Researches, analyzes, and determines applicability of proposed changed from external source to the Maintenance Program.
  • Provides oversight and prepares recommendations for changes to the Maintenance Program process through continuous improvement and surveillance processes.
  • Communicates and coordinates with the FAA, Reliability Board and various Maintenance and Strategic Sourcing departments on Maintenance Program changes.
  • Develops Maintenance Program job cards.
  • Ensures Maintenance Program limitations area accounted for by creating tasks in the computer tracking system (PMI), while validating the accuracy of limitations for each Maintenance Program change against manufacturer technical data.
  • Develops and revises technical work instructions associated with Maintenance Program tasks.
  • Ensures Maintenance Program changes are effectively and accurately implemented.
  • Supports Reliability Analysts efforts to improve aircraft reliability through modifications to the Maintenance Program.
  • Maintains accuracy and completeness of Structural Deviation Inspection Requirement (SDIR) manuals for aircraft and components as required by Federal Regulation.
  • Leads a survey of SDIR Manuals for all aircraft and components prior to mid-life inspections.
  • Administers the EPA Aircraft Drinking Water Rule to ensure compliance of regulatory requirements.
  • Ensures that all specified policies, practices, and procedures are complied with and follow Company policies and procedures for the completion of assigned duties.

Required Competencies:

  • High level of judgment and initiative in setting priorities, meeting deadlines, and maintaining program requirements.
  • High level of judgement in the ability to analyze all program data, implement changes, and make multiple decisions on how to implement and customize the maintenance schedule to meet Air Wisconsins needs.
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English.

Education & Experience:

Required:

  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office (including MS Word & Excel), Internet courseware development tools, and e-mail.
  • Ability to work independently and advocate for change.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Preferred:

  • Bachelors degree in Aviation Maintenance or Engineering.
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant License and a minimum of three years experience in aircraft maintenance programs or maintenance planning or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in a Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement strategies.
