Northrop Grumman Aerospace Structures has an opening for a Manager Mission Assurance 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Mission Assurance organization. This leadership role is located at Clearfield, UT.

The Manager Mission Assurance 3 will have the responsibility of leading a group of managers and the technical and professional staff that reports to them in a high-paced environment, which will include the following responsibilities:

Role Responsibilities:

  • Drives and implements industry practices and strategies to improve quality, cost, schedule and technical performance. The candidate will be expected to drive quality processes along with leveraging their experience/background to bring alternative ideas/solutions to drive continuous improvement of key elements within Mission Assurance disciplines.
  • Ability to manage complex budgets ensuring staffing requirement are met within flexible schedules. Interpret, execute, and recommend modifications to organizational policies while ensuring compliance.
  • Promotes the professional development of the Mission Assurance workforce and fosters a collaborative culture that sustains the momentum around employee engagement and inclusion, affordability, innovation, value growth and continuous improvement.
  • Build strong customer relations through proven commitment of shared goals to deliver the highest quality products to the warfighter; Open communication and ensure adequate oversight to ensure MGI’s are implemented.
  • Support and mentor team members by promoting professional development, fostering a collaborative environment, and endorsing ethical conduct.
  • Encourages team members to connect their efforts to overall company goals by creating an inclusive work environment characterized by mutual respect and the valuing of differences.
  • Participating in program planning and execution, to include the implementation of quality program plans tailored to the appropriate phase of the program, customer requirements and overall trends and/or risk profiles.
  • Ensuring the Quality/Mission Assurance, Manufacturing, and Engineering processes are consistent with industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9145 and AS9100).
  • Engages team members and drives robust root cause corrective actions utilizing appropriate quality tools (5-Whys, fishbone, etc..).
  • Tracks and owns all metrics related to quality, provides input for monthly reporting as well as presents quality results to leadership.
  • Actively monitors nonconformance and corrective actions to ensure timely dispositions and corrective action responses.
  • Functional planning, personnel management, and budgeting activities.
  • Champion Lean Agile and Digital Transformation initiatives.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND 9+ years of experience in Mission Assurance, Quality Assurance, Systems Engineering, and/or Program Management in Aircraft, Aerospace, Manufacturing Industries or Military related experience OR Master’s Degree AND 7+ years of experience in Mission Assurance, Quality Assurance, Systems Engineering, and/or Program Management in Aircraft, Aerospace, Manufacturing Industries or Military related experience.
  • Minimum of 5 Years of management, supervisor, or other demonstrated leadership experience.
  • Must have an Active DoD Secret Clearance that is in-scope Granted or renewed in the last 5 years and the ability to obtain special program access.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Mission Assurance Experience and ability to interface with all levels of functional and Program leadership
  • Proficient in root cause and corrective action.
  • Strong understanding of DCMAI 8210.1 Requirements to include FOE compliance and audits
  • Familiarity of the Quality Management System (AS9100D)
  • Advanced Degree (MS/MBA)
  • Solid Technical Understanding of instrumentation systems and architectures.
  • Strong orientation to change in a dynamic environment
  • Sophisticated level of understanding of complex quality policies, procedures, governmental regulations and work-flow.
Salary Range: $141,900 - $212,900
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
