Job overview and responsibilities
The Manager, User Experience Design will lead a team of interaction designers, visual designers and content strategists to ensure continual growth, relevance and consistency of all digital touchpoints for Uniteds Planning and Booking team. Along with the UX Director, the Manager will provide guidance and leadership, direct team activities, provide feedback, and be accountable for the overall quality of the digital experience. The Manager provides supervision and development opportunities for team members. This role has a global focus and responsibility.
- Visualize ideas using professional design tools as well as sticky notes, sketch boards, whiteboard markers or whatever tools are necessary to rapidly work through ideation and move to the next stage
- Identify user needs and business requirements along with generate ideas for innovation/improvements based on research, analysis, and competitive reviews
- Substantiate design approach with analysis & projections for improvements
- Ensure digital customer touch points become and remain consistent with United’s user experience and brand standards, developing intuitive, usable, and engaging designs
- Create final design deliverables through appropriately detailed design specifications, such as Figma and Sketch comps
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams as well as the domestic CoreUX team and business partners throughout the design process
- Communicate harmoniously with multiple stakeholders to synthesize, review design project progress, and incorporate feedback appropriately with a user-centered focus
