The Maintenance Manager is member of the company Management Group, and reports directly to the Accountable Manager.
He/she is responsible to the Area Manager/Accountable Manager that all resources, procedures and instruction are available to ensure that maintenance is carried out on time and to an approved standard and in accordance with the operators approved maintenance program.
He/she is equally responsible that all training is conducted according to requirements in EASA Part145 and all other regulatory requirements as applicable to support the Maintenance Organization approvals.
He has the budget and personnel responsibility within his organization regarding normal activities, investments, resource requirements and Health, Safety and Environmental issues (HSE).
The Maintenance Manager shall:
- Ensure an efficient administration and monitoring of technical activities
- Ensure economical results within the set budgets
- Ensure appropriate resources and capabilities to support the responsibilities and objectives
Maintenance Organization
- Organize Technical Duty Officer function
- Ensure an efficient, reliable and cost effective maintenance management system
- Ensure adequate contact with authorities, manufacturers, suppliers, other operators and customers.
- Contribute to further development and efficiency for all kind of resources to improve safety and competitive ability for his department and the company
- Participation in contract and tender preparation
- Participate in negotiations with employees’ labour organizations
- Contribute to an overall safe, reliable and healthy operation
In addition, the Maintenance Manager is responsible for maintaining a cost effective and proper storage of parts and materials to support the maintenance activities, and other company needs.
Knowledge, background and experience:
- practical experience and expertise in the application of aviation safety standards and safe operating practices
- 5 years of relevant work experience, of which at least 2 years should be from the aeronautical industry in an appropriate position;
- a relevant engineering or technical degree, or an aircraft technician or maintenance engineer qualification with additional education that is acceptable to the competent authority.
