The Director of Procurement reports to the CFO. This role involves strategic planning, vendor management, contract negotiation, and ensuring that procurement activities align with the companys objectives. The Director of Procurement is responsible for optimizing purchasing processes to maximize efficiency, minimize costs, and maintain quality standards. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing and optimizing all procurement activities. This position requires strategic vision, strong leadership skills, and a deep understanding of the procurement processes.

Job Duties:

  • Procurement Strategy Development: Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with the organizations goals and objectives, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery of MRO services and materials.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, negotiating contracts, terms, and conditions to ensure favorable pricing, quality, and service levels.
  • Sourcing and Vendor Selection: Identify, evaluate, and select vendors and service providers capable of meeting the organizations requirements, considering factors such as reliability, performance, and regulatory compliance.
  • Cost Management: Drive cost reduction initiatives through strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and process optimization while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
  • Risk Management: Assess and mitigate risks related to procurement activities, including supply chain disruptions, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement procurement strategies that support the organizations goals and objectives. Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand their requirements and forecast future needs.
  • Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and select vendors/suppliers based on quality, price, reliability, and service. Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Oversight: Ensure compliance with industry regulations, standards, and best practices, including FAA regulations, ITAR, and export controls.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Lead and mentor a team of procurement professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of procurement processes and initiatives, providing regular reports and insights to senior management.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including maintenance, engineering, finance, and operations, to align procurement activities with organizational goals and priorities.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Aviation Management, or a related field. Masters degree preferred.
  • Extensive experience (10+ years) in procurement, supply chain management, or related roles, preferably with a focus on aviation MRO.
  • Proven track record of strategic sourcing, vendor management, and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools, such as ERP systems and e-procurement platforms.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CPSM, CSCP) are a plus.
