Alpine Air is currently seeking a Director of Maintenance to be located at their Provo company headquarters site. The Director of Maintenance will be responsible to oversee all aspects of the fleet related to prevention, protection, and recovery, and ensure the fleet is operated efficiently. This role assures company aircraft are maintained to airworthiness standards prescribed by applicable regulations, airworthiness directives, and good practices. Responsibilities include overall reliability, maintenance, tooling, and materials availability, ensuring the best interest of the fleet is managed.
 
Duties and responsibilities
 
The selected applicant will oversee fleet maintenance and perform functions including:
  • Proficient with the use of all technical manuals, Federal Regulations, and Company policies and procedures both current and revised
  • Liaison with regulatory agencies
  • Coordinate fleet maintenance requirements with Shop Supervisors, Parts Manager, and company leadership as required
  • Coordinate with Flight Operations on any issues they may have regarding the aircraft or supporting programs
  • Advisory role in the oversight of the daily fleet operations to help ensure a high dispatch reliability
  • Direct and coordinate with Parts department to help ensure adequate spares and tooling are available to perform scheduled maintenance on time at pre-planned location
  • Active role to improve efficiencies by resolving recurring problems, training opportunities, and recommending changes in procedures
  • Lead and administer daily fleet conference calls with Shop Supervisors and Records Manager for efficient maintenance scheduling and performance
  • Responsible for project coordination implementation and support as necessary
  • Monitor key performance metrics and reporting aircraft reliability
  • Identify improvements to Approved Airworthiness Inspection Program in collaboration with Maintenance Team
  • Active role improving Maintenance Programs ensuring potential “gaps” are rectified
  • Key point of contact & coordinator for resources and technical support as necessary in cases of major mechanical problems or AOG situations
 
Qualifications
 
Qualifications include:
  • Aircraft & Powerplant Certificate required; Inspection Authorization Certificate is preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of Part 135/121 experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of Part 135/121 leadership experience
  • Must meet the qualifications of Director of Maintenance as defined in 14 CFR 119.71
  • Have 3 years experience within the past 3 years repairing aircraft at a certified airframe repair station
  • Working knowledge & experience with Part 135/121 Operations related to:
    • Records structure & management
    • Maintenance Event Tracking
    • Aircraft Conformity & On-boarding
    • Approved Aircraft and Engine Inspection Programs
    • Vendor relations
  • Exceptional attention to detail, verbal, and written communication skills required
  • Must be an active listener and effective problem-solver while meeting schedules
  • Experience effectively communicating with regulatory agencies
  • High school diploma required; BS/BA in administration or relevant field will be preferred

Working conditions
 
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, toxic chemicals, inclement weather, and heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually low.
 
This position is a Full-Time position, 40-50 hours per week, with competitive compensation and 401k with matching contribution. Paid Time Off, eleven paid holidays per year, Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance are available immediately upon employment.
