Job Description:

Role Introduction

Reports to: Group Business Resilience Manager – BCM or Humanitarian

Assists in the management of the Group’s E&A, BCM and Crisis Management programmes whilst adhering to all regulatory and government regulations and controls

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Continuity Programme (Applicable if covering Business Continuity Management)
    • Assist with managing the Group Business Continuity Programme in accordance with the requirements listed in the Group Business Resilience manual.
    • Assist the Group Business Resilience Manager BCM to assess risks to business operations and design potential mitigation strategies.
    • Assist the Group Business Resilience Manager BCM, in analysing the impact on, and risk to, essential business functions and identify acceptable recovery time periods and resource requirements.
    • Assist the Group Business Resilience Manager BCM to develop natural and manmade disaster recovery plans and templates for global physical locations with critical assets and people.
    • Assist the Group Business Resilience Manager BCM to develop an ongoing testing protocol to validate contingency plans and enhance mitigation strategies.
  • Emergency and Accidents (E&A) (Applicable if covering Humanitarian response)
    • Assist with managing the Group E&A Programme in accordance with the requirements listed in the Group Business Resilience manual.
    • Planning, designing and managing a new outport induction programme covering E&A to be carried out by regional business resilience specialists.
  • Training Programme
    • Assist in the design and management of the Group’s Crisis training programme, including curriculum development and delivery as appropriate.
    • Develop a management system to handle, organize and update all departmental training material (including compliance materials).
    • Assist in development and consolidation of resources and materials to maintain their required regulatory standards and internal requirements. This entails developing the training contents in conjunction with various GSORM functions and stakeholders.
    • Assist in working with key stakeholder representatives to develop, deliver and / or maintain the specific details and structures of their training programmes.
    • Explore and develop appropriate platforms / vehicles together with key stakeholders to deliver the GSORM training in order to maximize the training impact and effectiveness.
  • Care Team Training
    • Delivery training to all Care Team volunteers.
    • Maintain certification in Care Team HSR training.
    • Family Support Centre.
    • Data Exchange.
  • Crisis Response Centre Readiness
    • Physical campus preparedness via standardised health check programme.
    • Same for CRC supporting facilities and infrastructure.
    • Serve as primary PSD and JLL liaison.
  • Rotational Duty Officer
    • Serve as a member of the 24/7/365 team duty officer roster.
  • Crisis Assignment
    • Primary - Family Support Centre Oversight
    • Alternate - Head of Humanitarian Response (2nd shift).
  • Programme Support
    • Provide logistical support (e.g. rooms, accommodations, tickets) for exercises, special programmes, and other events.
  • Primary Internal Liaison
    • Primary “first stop” liaison with all business units and outports on BCP, E&A and Crisis Management enquiries.
Requirements

Skills

  • Exceptional ability to determine root causes of problems and design effective solutions; able to work independently or as a team member.
  • Excellent communications skills; superior command of written and spoken English and Cantonese; Putonghua proficiency as well is a distinct advantage.
  • Sensitivity in working with people from different cultures; excellent analytical skills and attention to detail; willingness to travel extensively worldwide.

Knowledge

  • University graduate or equivalent with three to five years’ experience in large and/or multi-national company.
  • Previous experience in design and delivery of training to a large audience.

Experience

  • Experience and/or extensive knowledge of airline operations with proven record of involvement in E&A, BCP or Crisis Management.
  • Business Continuity Institute qualification (preferred) in relevant operational resilience disciplines.
  • Proven record in working successfully across functional boundaries and at all levels within an organisation.
