Job Description:

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Supervise aviation Paraloft production control and repair/rebuilding /restoration of ALSS equipment including parachutes, float equipment, and oxygen equipment in accordance with the maintenance support requirements.

DUTIES

  • Logs and records maintenance in NALCOMIS (VIDSMAFs), and expedite supplies as required to maintain throughput
  • Coordinates with Senior Maintenance Controller.
  • The ALSSWS shall have demonstrated maintenance knowledge, experience, and working level skills/ability in:
  1. Testing, cleaning, and repairing ALSS equipment/components.
  2. NALCOMIS and VIDS/MAFs entry and completion.

C. AESR/SRC logs and records completion pertaining to ALSS maintenance processes.

  • Other duties assigned

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • The ALSSWS shall meet all qualifications of the AM-ALSS.
  • The ALSSWS shall have a minimum of five (5) years experience in the field of DON military aviation maintenance supervision in the last fifteen (15) years to the level of effort and complexity of requirements in this SOW.
  • The ALSSWS shall have a minimum of five (5) years experience in I level aircraft and ALSS repair and maintenance and Aviation Quality Assurance Collateral Duty Inspector to the level of effort and complexity of requirements in this SOW. This experience shall be exclusive of formalized training time.
  • Must be a graduate of the Navy PR A school or military service equivalent.
  • Examples of acceptable experience: Navy Aircrew Survival Equipment man (PR) Senior Enlisted with Aviation Quality Assurance Representative Maintenance Experience (i.e., E-7, E-8 or E-9) or USMC equivalent, or a Graduate NEC-8800 Aviation Maintenance/Production Chief (E-7, E-8 or E-9)
  • Must have a minimum of ten (10) years experience in the field of DON military aviation maintenance supervision.
  • Proficiency in various computer programs required (ex: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must have or be able to obtain a Secret Clearance. The Secret Clearance process will include requesting a credit history.

  • May be required to lift up to 50 pounds and carry for short distances.
  • May be required to read dials/gauges, identify small objects and hand tools.
  • Must be able to see imperfections, micrometer readings and other small scales.
  • Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear.
  • Must be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depth.
  • May be required to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, fork lift, APU, etc.
