Summary:
Responsible for inspecting machined components, sheet metal, and composite components, purchased products and standards, raw materials, assembled products, and outside processing for conformance to engineering drawings and specifications.
Interprets drawings, routings, product specifications, and quality requirements, to determine dimensions and tolerance specifications.
Creates complete CMM measurement programs using drawings and product specifications.
Interprets and preforms geometric dimensioning and tolerance (GD&T) evaluations.
Assists in receiving inspection operations, checking for conformance to specifications and PO requirements.
Examines materials and product for surface defects, such as cracks, pits, dents, burrs, nicks, and incomplete welds.
Compares product with parts list or sample model to ensure completion of assembly.
Follows established procedures to verify specified dimensions of product or material.
Required Skills:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Associates Technical Degree preferred.
5 years experience as mechanical inspector strongly preferred.
3 years experience on Zeiss CMM involving programming and operation strongly preferred.
Ability to read, understand, and interpret blueprints including true-positional tolerance per ANSI/Y-14.5
Experience with CATIA and SAP strongly preferred.
Clear communication of rejections/non compliances
Data reporting and analysis
Time/priority management
