Job Summary:
Under the guidance of Field Service personnel, the Field Service Technician will be responsible for the installation, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and removal of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems and components. The ideal candidate will also provide technical support for engineering activities related to weapons system development, testing, and field deployment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, test, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, mechanical, and/or hydraulic systems and equipment.
- Assist engineers in the development and design of weapons systems
- Set up, operate, and maintain test equipment; record and report test results.
- Conduct preliminary analysis of test data and report findings to senior staff.
- Prepare documentation, including schematics and parts lists, and contribute to engineering recommendations.
- Support fleet emergency calls and field service operations, including logistics and parts/tooling coordination.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and contribute to a safe work environment.
- Maintain personal development and share accountability for growth with your supervisor.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical repair standards.
- Minimum 2 years vocational or mechanical training in electrical/mechanical/hydraulic systems, plus 2 years of hands-on experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Experience working with basic instrumentation tools and hardware.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong time management and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to gather, analyze, and report on engineering data from multiple sources.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- J-Standard Certification and IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certification.
- Experience with U.S. Navy weapons systems (e.g., MK-38, MK-41, MK-45, MK-110) highly desirable.
- Relevant ordnance training or coursework is a plus.
- Prior experience in the defense industry preferred but not required.
