Job Description

In a Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) environment, the Structures Technician will be responsible for disassembling, repairing, and fabricating parts as necessary, as well as reassembling, installing, and documenting maintenance actions on heavy-lift helicopters, with a primary focus on Boeing CH-47 airframes (Model 107, Model 234 firefighting, and heavy lift utility). The role supports full rebuilds and sometimes fleet heavy maintenance checks.

Responsibilities

• Review task cards and interpret maintenance manuals and blueprints.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and machine tools to remove, inspect, fabricate replacement parts, repair, and reassemble components.
• Frequently remove and install standard and blind rivets, performing drilling, reaming, and riveting with high precision.
• Document maintenance actions thoroughly.

• 4+ years of experience in aircraft sheetmetal structures repair.
• Experience fabricating parts from blueprints, including cutting and bending.
• Strong skills in sheet metal repair and riveting.
• Ability to use hand, power, and machine tools effectively.

• Experience with CH-47 airframes is preferred.
• Willingness to undergo testing on installing fasteners and performing precise drilling and bending.
• Understanding of Bend Allowance or Bend Deduction is required.

Work Environment

The work takes place in heavy lift helicopter fleet MRO and rebuild hangars. Initially, the schedule is a 5-day work week from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM for several weeks, which then transitions to a 4-day work week from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, either Monday through Thursday or Tuesday through Friday.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Aurora, Oregon.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $52.00/hr.
