Position Summary
The Quality Assurance Inspector is responsible for the quality processes and procedures central to maintenance operations.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor degree in an aviation field from an accredited university.
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant license
- 3 years of audit experience
- 5-7 years professional experience
- Knowledge of current 14 CFR requirements (Parts, 1, 21, 25, 43, 65, 91, 125, 135)
- Ability to follow specific steps within auditing documents
- Knowledge of the Federal Aviation Administration processes
- Knowledge of quality processes, procedures, and concepts in the functional area of aviation quality assurance
- At least 3 years of experience in leading functional/cross-functional initiatives
Main Responsibilities
- Develops policies, procedures and methods to evaluate and improve the quality of products, materials, components and/or operations.
- Develops, assures and maintains the quality of products and processes, including standard procedures (e.g., ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14000 family of standards), quality audits/review, Taguchi methods, process reengineering, etc.
- Provides regulatory guidance to team members ensuring compliance on requirements and company policies.
- Conducts conformity inspections and audits as requested to include continual analysis of processes and procedures.
- Ensures all inspection / maintenance documentation is correctly and accurately formatted to include proper airworthiness release and return to service when required.
- Provides training to Designees, Outsource Maintenance Providers (OMP) and Authorized Person(s) as requested ensuring 14 CFR regulatory, GMM / AIM / MPM, and company compliance.
Main Responsibilities Cont.
- Monitors maintenance activity as assigned to ensure all aircraft are in compliance with airworthiness directives (AD’s), mandatory or alert service bulletins and tracks to closure as required.
- Ensures the MMEL / MEL / CDL / NEF for each assigned aircraft is current and notifies the Designee of changes.
- Interacts with aircraft computerized maintenance tracking program (CMTP) vendors to ensure changes to maintenance programs are timely, accurate and systems being used stay current with industry and regulatory best practices.
- Represent Jet Aviation as one company internally and externally with industry groups, regulatory bodies and the General Dynamics network
