Responsibilities
• Perform mechanical design and structural analysis of rotating and static components (blades, vanes, disks, impellers), including vibration, deflection, crack growth, burst, HCF, LCF, thermal, and stack analysis.
• Support component and engine module testing across lifecycle stages (rig, development, production), including data acquisition and reduction.
• Generate detailed documentation of design, simulation, analysis, and test results.
• Present engineering artifacts during structured design reviews.
• Interpret engineering drawings using GD&T standards.
• Contribute to technical mentoring, process/tool improvements, and knowledge capture.
Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
• 3+ years of experience in mechanical design, simulation and analysis experience in turbomachinery or related field, w/ ANSYS Mechanical software suite experience or comparable FEA software experience
U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENT:
Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization.
WE VALUE:
• Candidates with an advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Physics are strongly encouraged to apply
• Experience with turbomachinery rotating and static component structural analysis
• Knowledge of turbomachinery test methodologies such as strain gages, light probes and kulites
• Experience with turbomachinery testing, including instrumentation planning, data acquisition and data reduction
• Familiarity with manufacturing, product support, and field support of gas turbine engines
• Problem solving proficiency w/ root cause analysis (RCCA)
• Strong writing, speaking and presenting skills
• CAD based modeling experience (NX, UG, Solidworks, CATIA)
• Experience developing mechanical engineering software in MATLAB, Python, C++, JAVA or related engineering software
