Duties

  • Perform assembly and disassembly operations on aircraft fuel systems and equipment in accordance with DOD, manufacturer, company, supplier and other directives. Performs operational checks of aircraft fuel systems and components with or without production aids. Assembles and tests articles for use in system testing, development, and modification of aircraft.
  • Able to read and interpret schematics, assembly drawings, process specifications, technical manuals, written instructions, test procedures, etc.
  • Able to setup and use a variety of precision measuring instruments such as: torque wrenches, gauges, measuring devices etc.
  • Able to work with hand and pneumatic tools.
  • Able to operate various ground support equipment such as: hydraulic test carts, nitrogen / oxygen carts, tow tractors, hangar deck cranes, etc.
  • Able to fuel/defuel, pencil drain, leak check fuel system.
  • Able to work in confined spaces with respirator.  Must pass respirator physical.
  • Able to remove and install equipment and components establishing from blueprints with firm callouts, butt, center, chord, station and water lines.
  • Able to identify different types of corrosion, clean and treat corrosion.
  • Able to effectively communicate, orally and written, with other employees, members of supervision, and others, as required.
  • Able to clearly document maintenance and repair actions, equipment status tags, logs, parts requests, etc.
  • Able to perform assigned duties while wearing required safety equipment.
  • Able to perform assigned duties on all shifts without encumbrances due to weather or physical location and conditions.
  • Order parts, pan stock, tools, materials, and equipment as required while performing assigned duties.
  • Responsible for complying with all rules and regulations concerning health and safety, tool control, contracts, and facilities.

Requirements:

Education and/or Training Requirements:

  • Should have knowledge of shop mathematics, assembly methods and shop practice. Work from drawings, sketches, sample parts, position templates and other complete or incomplete information.

Experience Required:

  • Minimal requirement is 4 to 6 years of experience in these duties.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of experience working on F-18 fuel systems.

Occupation or Operation Requirement:

  • Perform standard and routine work where specific or general operation methods apply. Judgment to make general decisions, adjusting equipment, interpreting readings and data, and diagnosing and correcting malfunctions that develop during installations. Responsible for the proper performance of assignments and the prudent handling of product, tools and equipment.
  • Considerable care and judgment required to fit and adjust parts and assemblies to requirements and specifications and in performing various assembly and installation operations; works under little or no supervision; works with the assistance and guidance of more skilled employees.
Salary Range: $49,900 - $83,100
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
