As a Mechanical Engineer for the Collins Aerospace Galley Inserts group, you will be part of an international team of engineers responsible for innovating, designing and maintaining designs of various Galley equipment such as ovens, beverage makers, air chillers and refrigerators. Our products give airlines the ability to serve passengers with a hot meal and beverage when flying around the world.
You will report to the Sustaining Engineering Manager in the Netherlands, but also remain part of multidisciplinary teams consisting of engineers worldwide.
What you will do:
Develop mechanical and electromechanical projects to meet stated design requirements.
Develop requirements for the interfaces of electro-mechanical systems in cooperation with system, software and electrical engineers.
Design hardware and assemblies for heating, refrigreation, liquid dispensing, retention, and other system requirements.
Perform detail and system analysis, modeling and simulation.
Design components and assemblies, design and review mechanical assemblies.
Participates on local and international teams to develop solutions to complex engineering problems. Defines statement of work for domestic and international suppliers to develop life cycle data per system requirements.
Participates in design reviews of systems to assess new product development readiness.
Develop test methods and procedures to validate designs against requirements.
Analyze qualification requirements and define test methods to satisfy airworthiness qualification needs.
Support reporting of test results in all phases of product development.
Troubleshoot qualification, manufacturing and field failures for root cause and design improvements.
Communicate design needs to supply chain and work with suppliers to meet defined design requirements.
Researches, develops, designs, and tests components, equipment, and systems.
Applies standard techniques involving innovations of methodology to provide solutions to problems involving a limited number of variables.
3D modeling and 2D drawing preparation, revision, and release using NX Unigraphics.
Verify regulatory compliance of designs by analytical methods or testing prototypes.
Solve design issues and verify solutions through analysis and test
Evaluate materials and parts for use in new designs including communicating with current and new suppliers.
Operate in a team environment, coordinating with other functional areas such as software, electrical, and manufacturing to providing input to design solutions and participate in design reviews.
Performs other related duties as required.

The salary range for this role is 66,000 USD - 130,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
