PDS Tech Commercial is looking for a dynamic Cabin Mechanical Systems / Routing Engineer III to join our team. In this role, youll lead the charge in ensuring the design and delivery of top-notch mechanical systems and routing solutions for aircraft cabin upgrades. Role Impact:
As a Cabin Mechanical Systems / Routing Engineer III, you will play a critical role in managing mechanical system tasks and ensuring that the design solutions meet both customer requirements and regulatory standards. Your work will directly impact the success of cabin upgrade projects, ensuring that all mechanical systems are optimized for performance, safety, and efficiency. From creating 3D models to writing installation instructions, your contributions will make a significant difference in the aircrafts performance and the passenger experience.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
System Design Leadership: Represent the mechanical systems team in cross-functional meetings and projects, ensuring that design and engineering activities are aligned with customer requirements and timelines.
3D Modeling & Design: Create mechanical 3D models (ATA21/35/38/92 for plates and VU) and mechanical structure breakdowns, ensuring all aspects of the design meet required specifications.
Documentation & Approval: Write and approve technical and substantiation notes, as well as installation instructions for mechanical systems and components.
Drawing Creation: Produce mechanical support drawings for ATA21/35/38/92 and associated installation drawings, ensuring quality and accuracy.
Collaboration & Coordination: Work closely with other engineering disciplines, the production team, and the project manager to ensure on-time and on-quality completion of all tasks and deliverables.
Your Boarding Pass:
Education: B.S. degree in engineering (Mechanical, Aeronautical, Civil, Electrical, or a related field).
Experience: At least 6 years of experience in the aviation industry, specifically in aircraft cabin mechanical systems engineering, with a solid understanding of associated design, certification, and qualification processes.
Key Skills:
Experience in mechanical conception, manufacturing processes, and VU design (e.g., architecture, ventilation, smoke detection).
Proficiency in mechanical installations (e.g., electrical routes, racks, plates, and associated bracketry) and substantiation.
Familiarity with CATIA (including EHI / EHA modules).
Understanding of Aircraft Publications (AMM, IPC, ESPM).
Strong communication, coordination, and organizational skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Ability to interpret and mentor principles within your assigned discipline and motivate diverse teams.
Preferred Experience:
Knowledge of Company tools, Technical Directives (TDD92, TDD20), and System Installation Design Principles (SIDP92, SIDP20).
Delegated signatory for mechanical systems/electrical routing within DOA.
Experience with EASA Part 21 (DOA/POA), Part 145, and CS25 regulations.
Technical project management experience and familiarity with configuration management.

Pay Details: $58.17 per hour
