Job Title: Structures TechnicianJob Description
As a Structures Technician, you will perform heavy depot-level structural maintenance, repairs, and modifications on T-38 aircraft. Your work will focus on upgrading aircraft skin and bulkhead components, ensuring the structural integrity and functionality of the aircraft.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and assess damage to aircraft structural components, formulating appropriate repair and replacement procedures using applicable technical data.
- Remove and install close tolerance, high-strength fasteners in major aircraft structural components.
- Design structural repairs, modifications, and corrosion protection treatments to maintain original strength, weight, and contour.
- Perform post-repair flight control weight and balance functions and control surface rigging as per designated technical orders.
- Inspect components and repairs for structural serviceability according to specifications and technical publications.
- Manufacture and use jigs, fixtures, forms, and molds to fabricate repair or replacement parts.
- Utilize advanced metalworking practices, equipment, and tools to form, cut, bend, and fasten replacement or repair parts to damaged structures and components.
Essential Skills- Proficiency in airframe and aircraft sheet metal maintenance.
- Experience in heavy depot level repairs or modifications.
- Expertise in sheet metal repair, skin repairs, skin patches, and bulkhead changes.
- Knowledge of corrosion control and aircraft skin repair.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- For Level III: 8 - 12 years performing depot level or MRO level structural repairs or modifications, with at least 7 - 8 years at Depot or MRO level. Fighter jet experience is preferred but not required.
- For Level II: 5 - 8 years performing depot level or MRO level structural repairs or modifications, with at least 5 years at Depot or MRO level. Fighter jet experience is preferred but not required.
- Air Force Specialty Code 2A753 or 2A773 is a nice-to-have.

The position is based in an aircraft hangar with a day shift schedule from Monday to Friday, 0630 - 1530.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $36.21 - $47.09/hr.
