Job Description
The F-18 E/F Aircraft/Engine Mechanic will be responsible for Organizational Level support of the aircrafts Engine (F414-GE-400) and general aircraft mechanic duties.
Responsibilities
- Understand pre/post flight activities and inspections.
- Service aircraft with engine oil and hydraulics.
- Perform aircraft jacking evolutions.
- Comprehend engine fuel systems.
- Conduct maintenance operations on F-18 aircraft, equipment, engines, components, and systems in accordance with all applicable directives.
- Read and interpret schematics, assembly drawings, process specifications, technical manuals, written instructions, and test procedures.
- Set up and use pneumatic tools such as screw guns.
- Use a torque wrench and common hand tools like wrenches and safety wire pliers.
- Remove and replace panels, floorboards, insulation, and sealing compounds using all types of mechanical fasteners.
- Remove, replace, and check out aircraft components and assemblies.
- Understand primary, secondary, and emergency hydraulic systems.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of all aircraft engine and mechanical systems aboard the aircraft.
- Resolve technical problems encountered and provide technical advice, training, and troubleshooting assistance to O Level technicians.
- Familiarity with IETM’s, NAMP 4790, and applicable NAVAIR technical publications.
- Generate written reports for management in support of contractual obligations.

Work Environment
This role supports a Foreign Military Sales program in New Orleans, LA at the NAS Joint Reserve Base. Although it is an FMS program, this position is not deployable. All work occurs on-site, with two positions supporting the first shift and one supporting a dedicated night shift. The assignment includes one month of training and certifications before hands-on aircraft work.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
