Job Title: A&P Mechanic
Job DescriptionEnsures that all maintenance and alterations performed by this repair station are in accordance with the Ratings and Operations Specifications of the FAA 145 repair station. This is a hands on position where the inspector will perform maintenance and repairs on articles listed on the repair stations approved capabilities listing. The role includes training, directing, and assisting all personnel performing work under the repair station certificate as directed by the Director of Maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all maintenance and alterations comply with FAA 145 repair station specifications.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on approved articles.
- Train, direct, and assist personnel under the repair station certificate.
- Ensure housing, facilities, equipment, materials, and data meet certificate requirements.
- Determine and document the equivalency of tools and equipment used.
- Ensure current and accessible technical data for maintenance and alterations.
- Ensure inspectors are familiar with inspection methods, techniques, aids, tools, and equipment.
- Perform appropriate calibrations and checks on tools and equipment.
- Submit reports on failures, malfunctions, or defects to the Production Director and Quality Assurance Manager.
- Report identified risks associated with the repair station.
- Perform all actions required for Return to Service.
- Manage Continuous Improvement efforts for the repair station.
- Communicate with internal and external customers and the FAA as required.
Essential Skills- Experience working in an FAA Repair Station following FAA 145 Ratings and Operations Specifications.
- Possession of FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification; current FAA Inspection Authorization is a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years of inspection experience.
- Five years of experience at an airline or MRO is strongly preferred.
- Thorough understanding of Federal Aviation Regulations, inspection methods, techniques, and equipment.
- Proven track record of delivering high levels of customer service.
- Strong leadership traits with good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated integrity and ethical judgment.
- Commitment to quality and safety in all maintenance activities.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to understand user needs, address conflicts and competing priorities, and effectively lead and manage others.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Experience in quality control, quality assurance, and visual inspection.
- Proficiency with inspection equipment such as calipers, blueprints, and micrometers.
- Strong business acumen and ability to remain calm under stress.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, you will be regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, wet and/or humid conditions, extreme heat and cold, high places, outside weather conditions, and vibration. Exposure to chemicals including aviation fuels and oils is also common. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The job operates Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with minimal travel required. The team size is small, fostering close-knit collaboration. Reports to the Director of Maintenance.
