We seek a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team as a High School FAA Certified A&P Mechanic Instructor. This position offers a unique opportunity to share your expertise in aviation maintenance with high school students, preparing them for careers in the aviation industry. As an integral member of our faculty, you will provide hands-on instruction and theoretical knowledge in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and guidelines.
A part-time instructor position is available at a high school career and technical center in North Conway, New Hampshire, for the 2024-25 school year (August 26, 2024 - June 15, 2025). The instructor will teach one 85-minute block daily, 3-5 days per week, across two 18-week semesters, plus 3 hours per week for planning. The pay rate is $100 per hour, with a minimum of 350 hours per semester. The total number of hours will be determined by instructor availability. MWVCTC is committed to providing equal opportunities. Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver comprehensive lesson plans and curriculum for the FAA-certified Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) program.
- Provide instruction in aircraft maintenance theory, principles, and procedures, covering topics such as airframe structures, powerplant systems, electrical systems, and avionics.
- Conduct practical training sessions in our equipped aviation maintenance facility, including aircraft inspection, repair, and troubleshooting.
- Ensure compliance with FAA regulations and standards in all aspects of instruction and student activities.
- Administer assessments and evaluate student performance to monitor progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement, critical thinking, and professional development.
- Collaborate with school administrators, industry partners, and regulatory agencies to enhance program quality and relevance.
- Participate in professional development activities to stay current with industry trends, technology advancements, and instructional best practices.
