The aircraft mechanic inspects, maintains, and repairs aircraft to ensure safe operations within guidelines set by the Federal Aviation Administration. In this role, in addition to the aircraft mechanic and avionics tasks, the role also completes line technician tasks. With each area, the aircraft mechanic communicates with the team and maintains accurate and complete records related to these tasks.
Duties and responsibilities:
Aircraft Mechanic Tasks:
- Diagnose mechanical or electrical problems
- Repair aircraft components and systems
- Replace defective parts, using hand tools or power tools
- Examine replacement aircraft parts for defects
- Read maintenance manuals to identify repair procedures
- Test aircraft parts with gauges and other diagnostic standards
- Keep records of maintenance and repair work
Avionics technician tasks:
- Test electronic instruments, using circuit testers, oscilloscopes, and voltmeters
- Interpret flight test data to diagnose malfunctions and performance problems
- Assemble components, such as electrical controls and junction boxes, and install software
- Install instrument panels, using hand tools, power tools, and soldering irons
- Repair or replace malfunctioning components
- Keep records of maintenance and repair work
Line Technician tasks:
- Clean, wash, and wax aircraft per protocols
- Stock aircraft and prep for dispatch
- Tug King Air, CE650, and CE750
- Fueling of King Air, CE650, and CE750
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 1 year of experience as a mechanic
- A&P Certificate or working toward it.

- Thorough understanding of all areas of aircraft maintenance
- Thorough understanding of safety rules and regulations, FAA regulations, and FAA compliance requirements
