Overview
We have a vacant position for a Project Material Management Analyst to join our team in Middletown, CT.
Working under the direction of the Team Lead, Materials, the Project Material Management Analyst is responsible for the coordination of planning and control activities for a technical manufacturing program. Is knowledgeable in master scheduling and/or capacity planning techniques related to level loading, resource utilization, and detailed requirements planning processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Coordinate with Engineering, Purchasing and other groups and work from established program plans to develop, maintain and monitor schedules. Perform diversified analytical duties related to the identification and resolution of materiel management problems associated with assigned programs in order to meet schedules. May provide technical direction to lower level analysts in the performance of scheduling/expediting duties.

- Provide technical direction to less experienced analysts in the performance of scheduling/expediting duties.
- Participate in program status reviews and new program planning meetings.
- Analyze demand and supply balance, determine out of balance conditions; identify alternatives and recommend actions for approval.
- Provide scheduling input for engineering changes with the intent of meeting customer and program requirements.
- Keep inventory levels balanced to demand.
- Provide input to maintain accurate manufactured lead-times.
- Release purchase requisitions for appropriate lot and batch quantities based on JIT principles while satisfying program cost objectives.
- Lead by example: prevent errors; perform work in accordance with department and company policies & procedures.
- Work in collaboration with the Inventory Control group.
- Interface with Managers, Supervisors and Group Leaders to optimize and manage flow of work on the production floor.
- Provide feedback to managers and supervisors regarding part shortages and concerns
Ability to perform multiple tasks and make decisions under tight schedules in order to support Customer requirements.
Qualifications
Education
Broad knowledge of a general technical field such as manufacturing, procurement, materials planning. Requires understanding and use of MRP systems/manufacturing processes. Good oral and written communications skills and working knowledge of PC-based word processing, spreadsheet and database application software. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent educational experience (e.g. certs, CEUs, etc.)
Experience
- 3 to 5 years of related experience.
