Responsibilities
This role is responsible for coordinating and prioritizing all business and leisure travel requests for Spirit Airlines employees, management, vendors, and other airline partners. The Coordinator supports the company’s operational strategy by negotiating and administering cost-effective travel solutions that align with departmental needs. The position requires ongoing analysis of travel environments, with a focus on safety, comfort, convenience, and cost efficiency.
Starting Pay: $19.00/hr
Daily Responsibilities Include:
- Organization: Maintain document control by tracking travel requests by date, destination, and receipt. Collaborate with the HR Benefits Team and Guest Solutions & Recovery to deliver exceptional internal guest service.
- Spirit Representation: Act as the primary contact for all corporate and leisure travel across the airline. Provide travel support to third-party vendors and other airline partners, including both revenue and non-revenue travel, while offering cost-effective alternatives.
- Compliance: Ensure use of approved vendors with negotiated NK rates, locations, and services. Verify that employee dependents meet HR policy requirements via ESS before processing travel authorizations. Reconcile all travel-related expenses monthly, including credit card charges, rental car billing, and hotel direct bills.
- Planning: Coordinate with relevant departments to assess upcoming training and travel needs that may impact operations. Evaluate flight availability, ground transportation, and hotel costs to support timely and cost-sensitive decisions.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent.
- Must have a valid Non-Restricted Drivers License.
- Must have the ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, holidays, weekends, and extended hours, as required.
- Proficient with computers, basic knowledge of word editing software, and email management.
- Ability to multi-task with several assignments at the same time, deliver positive results, and shift focus to new task while keeping productivity and without losing sight of general goals.
- Detail-oriented and dependable: able to produce accurate work and complete all assigned tasks.
- Must be present at the worksite 100 of time.
- Ability to hold airport specific requirements such as a SIDA Badge and Customs Seal.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience, preferably within an aviation background.
- Inventory background experience.
- Experience with Navitaire Suite of Reservation Tools.
- Familiarity with Performance Analytics tools.
- Aviation Materials Knowledge, familiar with parts numbers, descriptions and handling.
- Hazardous Materials Shipping and Handling, knowledge of HAZCOM and general shipping procedures.
