Key responsibilities
- Fabrication and Refurbishment:
Sewing and upholstering aircraft interiors, including seats, covers, and panels, according to customer specifications and engineering drawings.
- Safety Equipment Assembly:
Constructing and assembling components for aviation life support equipment, such as parachutes, using specialized materials and sewing techniques.
Cutting fabrics, webbing, and other raw materials by hand or using automated cutting tools.
Setting up and operating industrial and specialized sewing machines, adjusting settings for tension, thread, and stitch types.
Inspecting finished products to ensure they meet company standards and aviation regulations, checking for defects in stitching and materials.
Performing routine maintenance on sewing machines, such as oiling, cleaning, and changing needles.
Completing required paperwork and maintaining accurate records of work performed, which is often mandated by aviation authorities.
