The Boeing Global Services, Government Division (BGS-G) is seeking an Experienced Procurement Agent Specialist to manage local Japanese suppliers for various government and military programs from the Boeing Japan Tokyo Office. In this position, you’ll be the local supply base manager representing BGS-G team. This role will support the entire sub-contract life-cycle. You will be a key individual who has the advantage of developing long-term relationships with our BGS-G key Japanese suppliers and with our local BGS-G program stakeholders. This position will require up to 25 of travel in-country for activities like pre-request for proposal engagements with local suppliers, facilitating questions between the BGS-G procurement team & the suppliers along with post-award support (managing supplier performance to a purchase contract). This position will be a part of a cross-functional in country team but will report to a U.S. based manager.
Position Responsibilities:
- Integrates program, customer, product and in-service strategies into source selection, negotiation and contracting strategies.
- Supports sourcing strategies, negotiations and documenting of contracts and agreements.
- Builds relationships and rapport with suppliers
- Clearly establishes and communicates contractual performance obligations with suppliers to monitor supplier performance
Basic Qualification:
- More than 2 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Fluent proficiency in both English & Japanese Business level in English (writing, speaking, and listening)
- Must be able to work in an international team environment effectively collaborating with US-based teammates and local stakeholders to accomplish a goal
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite
Preferred Qualification:
- More than 3 years of experience working with suppliers
- 3 or more years’ related work experience or relevant military experience. Advanced degree (e.g. Bachelor, Master, etc.) preferred, but not required.
- More than 1 year of experience with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) & Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFAR)
- Native level Spoken and Written in Japanese
Location:
Tokyo, Japan
The selected candidate will be required to work on-site (with some flex) at Boeing Japan’s Tokyo office.
