Morson Group are recruiting on behalf of BAE Systems for an Assistant Financial Accountant to join their finance team on a 12-month contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hardworking and motivated individual to join a busy Shared Services finance function. The Financial Accounting team supports multiple business units, delivering activities including financial reporting, fixed asset accounting, leasing accounting, payroll accounting, and general accounting (accruals, prepayments and provisions), supported by various technologies including robotics.

The team operates a hybrid working model, with 1 day per week on site in Glascoed and the remainder working remotely.

The Assistant Financial Accountant plays a key role in supporting the preparation and management of accurate financial records, ensuring compliance and timely reporting.

• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, and recurring transactions.

• Perform balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.

• Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring deadlines are met.

• Calculate and record provisions, including doubtful debts.

• Maintain and monitor general ledger accounts to ensure accurate classification and reporting.

• Collaborate with internal departments to resolve queries and support continuous process improvement.

• Excellent communication skills
