None/Not RequiredThis position is for a Systems Engineer II on the Helmet Vision Systems team in the Vision and Sensor Systems organization. The Helmet Vision Systems team provides situational awareness capabilities to rotary wing, fixed wing, and surface customers in Government Systems spanets. The team develops helmet mounted displays and digital night vision products by integrating sensors, processing and display capabilities to meet specific platform requirements. The HVS team transitions technologies from research and development into full production rate, qualified products.
The candidate will serve as a responsible engineer supporting development and integration activities for helmet vision systems development project teams. This responsibility spans all aspects of the Electro-optical and Infrared (EO/IR) vision system and related subsystems, including sensors, hardware, processing, algorithms, optics, and microdisplays. Specific responsibilities of this position include Helmet Mounted Display System and subsystem (microdisplays, sensors, algorithms, hardware) requirements analysis, definition, and validation; systems and subsystems integration and requirements verification testing; effective technical collaboration among systems, hardware and software design functions; assisting in resolving technical problems that cross functional domain areas of hardware and software; and supporting customer platform integration.
What You Will Do:
Support the engineering effort to produce, test, troubleshoot, repair, and deliver helmet vision systems solutions
Update, spanup, review, and release drawings and test procedures
Investigate issues seen during testing and qualification
What You Will Learn:
How to manage multiple competing tasks while balancing priorities
Enhance your familiarity with military avionics and/or rotary wing aircraft missions
Gain experience with hands-on troubleshooting using engineering lab equipment
Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field
Willing to travel up to 10
Experience in at least one of the following areas test, troubleshooting, optics, hardware, software
Qualifications We Prefer:
Experience working with Electro-optical and/or infrared imaging sensor systems and/or display systems
Knowledge of advanced electro-optical systems to include imaging systems in multiple spectral bands, and digital image processing.
Knowledge of advanced display technologies, to include experience with micro-display and projection technologies
Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
Preferred applicants will currently hold a DoD Secret (or above) security clearance, or have held one within the past two years.

The salary range for this role is 66,000 USD - 130,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
