Summary:
Responsible for ensuring the structural integrity of blades, rotors, and transmission/drive systems in next-generation vertical lift aircraft.
Perform structural analysis (conceptual, preliminary, and detailed) using classical methods and finite element analysis (FEA) software, such as ANSYS.
Calculate Margins of Safety, conduct fatigue analysis, and determine retirement times for metallic and composite structures.
Conduct modal, buckling, crack propagation, and thermal analysis.
Collaborate with Design, Materials & Process, and Test Engineering teams.
Prepare structural substantiation reports to support drawing releases and certification.
Required Skills:
Proficiency in structural FEA (ANSYS).
Strong problem-solving skills, with an understanding of loading and dynamics in mechanical assemblies.
Ability to manage complex tasks independently.
Excellent communication and technical writing skills.
