Ability to Obtain a Secret Clearance
Join a team dedicated to designing and producing armored combat and support vehicles. As a prime mover in ground force capabilities, this firm provides innovative solutions that ensure the safety and effectiveness of military personnel worldwide, focusing on durability, mobility, and performance.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and integrate components to meet performance, human factors, environmental, ballistic, and mine blast requirements
- Design and analyze shock/vibration isolation systems, mounting brackets, and structural mechanisms
- Apply mechanics of materials, material selection, welding, and fabrication principles in component design
- Perform design analysis, tolerance stack-ups, drawing spanups, and engineering change documentation
- Generate material requests and shop work requests; track parts through build cycles
- Support prototype and production vehicle builds, fit checks, and integration reviews
- Conduct failure analysis, root cause investigations, and corrective action development
- Direct and oversee CAD model and drawing development
- Present design concepts and technical updates to engineering and program leadership
- Support troubleshooting and redesign efforts as required
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Must be eligible to obtain a U.S. security clearance
- Experience:
- 5–7+ years of mechanical engineering experience
- Experience supporting prototype and/or production vehicle builds
- Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action processes
- Technical Skills:
- Strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles
- Experience with solid modeling tools (NX and/or Creo preferred)
- Experience with Teamcenter (preferred)
- Experience with Vis Mockup (plus)
- Experience designing for welded structures and mounting provisions
- Additional Requirements:
- Ability to travel up to 10
- Ability to work in and around military vehicles
- Ability to support occasional overtime as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience supporting ground combat vehicle programs
- Experience with shock attenuation systems and blast survivability requirements
- Experience with vehicle seating, crew accommodations, battery enclosures, hydraulics, fire suppression, or driver controls
